Jewelry Care

Care Guide

A little love goes a long way. Here's everything you need to keep your jewelry looking beautiful — whether it's a new piece or an old favorite.

General Jewelry Care

These tips apply to all jewelry — gold, silver, plated, and gemstone pieces alike.

Store It Properly

Keep jewelry in a cool, dry place — ideally in a soft pouch or lined jewelry box. Store pieces separately to prevent scratching.

Put It On Last

Apply perfume, lotion, and hairspray before putting on your jewelry. Chemicals in these products can dull metals and damage stones over time.

Take It Off First

Remove jewelry before washing dishes, cleaning, exercising, or sleeping. Even gentle daily wear can cause buildup and gradual damage.

Clean Gently

Use a soft cloth to wipe pieces after wearing. For a deeper clean, use mild soap and warm water with a soft brush, then rinse and pat dry thoroughly.

Avoid Moisture

Remove jewelry before swimming, showering, or hot tubs. Chlorine and salt water are especially harsh on metals and can cause discoloration or weakening.

Handle With Care

Fine chains and delicate settings can bend or break under pressure. Hold pieces by their sturdiest part and avoid tugging or pulling.

Permanent Jewelry Care

Your permanent piece is welded to last — here's how to keep it looking its best for years to come.

Keep It Clean

Gently clean your jewelry with mild soap and water, then pat dry with a soft cloth.

Avoid Harsh Products

Take care around lotions, perfumes, and cleaning products. These can dull the shine or damage the finish over time.

Everyday Strong, But Still Delicate

Your piece is welded to last, but it's still fine jewelry. Avoid excessive tugging, pulling, or impact that may cause it to stretch or break.

Water-Safe, But Be Mindful

Your jewelry is safe for showers, pools, and oceans, but chlorine, salt water, and hot tubs may speed up wear, especially on gold filled or sterling silver.

Tarnish Happens

If your piece is gold plated, sterling silver, or gold filled, it may naturally tarnish over time. This is normal and can be polished with a jewelry cloth.

Check It Occasionally
